Paris is such a beautiful city. It screams class and really is the city of love. Everything is set in such a romantic light, and you can’t help but feel you want to be a Parisian yourself. Between the architecture and the artwork you can’t just want to open a history book and learn more about how the city of Paris came to be.
I got the chance to visit this beautiful city this past Christmas, and I was in awe of it. I fell in love the moment I got off the airplane and drove into the heart of the city. In a short seven days, my family and I packed as much of Paris we could in a short time. Through all of it I came up with the things that I found to be of high importance to see.
Here are the top 5 things to do in Paris:
1) Eiffel Tower Tour
It truly is the center of Paris. The beauty of the Eiffel tower is something that is indescribable. Sure, it’s beautiful in pictures but nothing can compare to standing directly next to the symbol of Paris. If you can get the chance, book a tour up to the top. Seeing Paris from that view is something of it’s own and to be able to say you have been on the Eiffel tower is truly something spectacular. In addition, seeing it sparkle at night is breathtaking and mesmerizing. You honestly believe that anything is possible after seeing that occur and you look forward to every hour that it lights up at night.
I can’t help but think of Beyonce whenever I see anything related to Versailles, and visiting it myself was a dream. All the gold that is present makes you feel that you are in the presents of royalty. You can’t help but picture how royalty use to live and can’t help but daydream of living the dream. It is so magnificent and beautiful. It’s a step into history and makes you want to take another college course on French history.
3) French/Parisian Food
French food is pretty spectacular and finding those restaurants that are known for their food is completely worth it. Between the onion soup to escargot, you can never go wrong with what you order and there always is something I love with exploring the culture of food in the country you are visiting. We always found the best restaurants by asking locals, and experiencing their favorite restaurants. Also, you can’t leave Paris without trying Laduree macaroons, they are heaven in a bite, and noting her compares to the sweet deliciousness of a Laduree macaroon.
4) Disenyland Paris
If you are at all a disney fan, I would highly recommend taking a day trip and going to Disneyland Paris. It embodies Disney aspects but has it’s own uniqueness, and it perfectly intertwines Disney and France. The price is way more reasonable than Disneyland, and is worth the afternoon. The rides are similar yet different, and it’s highly intriguing to see the different take that Paris takes on in creating their own Disneyland.
5) Walking along the Champs-Élysées
Taking an afternoon stroll along the Champs-Élysées is such a relaxing and intriguing experience. Between all the shops that surround you, you could be just preoccupied with shopping, but just seeing everyone around you is an experience of their own. At the end you end up looking the Arc de Triumph which just embodies French beauty, and is a perfect way to end an afternoon stroll along the Champs-Élysées.
Overall, Paris is such a beautiful and enchanting city. It’s a memory that I will never forget, and for sure want to visit again and be able to stay longer than just a week. If you ever get the chance to visit this romantic city, I would highly recommend it. It’s an opportunity you cannot pass up.
